Trochilidae

Ahh~ Today was warm, so I've been really sleepy all day. Tired of doing calculus assignments, I went outside to the backyard to breathe non-stale air and maybe take some photos.

Where did all the living creatures go!? Seriously, I couldn't find a single animal out there; usually there's birds everywhere that won't shut up, but today, not so much. I was about to go back inside when I hear this clicking noise, and this hummingbird comes up to my face, hovers for about a second and then flies up to a tree.

I was really excited because now it's not like I wasted half an hour standing outside waiting for nothing, so I get my camera ready to take the photo. Stupid bird positions itself in the most awkward place imaginable; it was too high up and there were tree branches or a sun glare in the way no matter where I stood.

I circle around the tree a couple times but this was the best shot I could get. Trying to get it to move to a more manageable spot, I shake the tree but despite that the branch it's sitting on is swaying, all the bird does is turn its head towards me like it's reprimanding me: "Hey, now, behave." Then it turns around with its back towards me and I go home.
